Manager Accounting

The Accounting Manager will support leadership and manage the corporate accounting functions while ensuring compliance with group policies and procedures.  This is a hands-on role, with direct responsibility over the corporate general ledger as well as indirect responsibility over the sub-group accounting functions, ensuring they are aligned with company goals and objectives.


What you will be doing


You will manage the monthly close process, including the consolidation of several sub-groups and the financial submission for the America's division. Additional responsibilities include:


  • Prepare, review and approve monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Oversee and assist with pension accounting, intercompany allocations, and significant reserve estimates.
  • Perform monthly variance analysis vs. forecast and prior periods.
  • Assist with the maintenance of global chart of accounts and ensuring consistency between local and corporate reporting.
  • Review and improve internal controls and Accounting policies and procedures.
  • Manage and review the work of staff accountant.
  • Manage and perform intercompany billing and netting processes, which includes assisting in the remediation of out of balance issues.
  • Liaison between corporate (Stockholm, Sweden) and division regarding accounting matters. 
  • Act as primary lead for the financial aspects of integration activities of newly acquired businesses, including purchase accounting requirements (as needed).
  • Manage the external audit process, ensuring corporate accounting responsibilities are met, as well as coordinating between external audit team and sub-group finance leaders.
  • Assist in performing internal audit activities as necessary.
  • Assist with researching technical accounting guidance for accounting changes/issues and execute the proper application.


What we are looking for

This role requires 6+ years' experience in accounting and/or financial reporting within a multi-divisional or multi-plant manufacturing setting.  BS in Accounting; CPA is required. Previous supervisory experience is preferred. To be successful in this role, you need a strong knowledge of accounting principles in accordance with IFRS as well as strong analytical abilities.

You must have the ability to manage multiple projects/priorities at the same time. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, Vlookup and Smart View queries are necessary. You need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills.


The following skills/experiences are highly desired; acquisition and pension accounting and previous use of Hyperion and/or JD Edwards.
