Service Team Leader


ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems is seeking a Service Team Leader who will share our values and provide key support for our Naperville, IL location.


This individual will be responsible for the profitable operation of their assigned segment of the Service Business.  This includes the direct supervision of all related and repair activity, union personnel, as well as accomplishing goals for quality and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide direction to field technicians as it pertains to service and repair projects.
  2. Review and resolve tickets daily.  Assure that technicians comply with operational procedures.
  3. Complete equipment, process and worker safety audits as per company policy.   When perform audits visit with customer, and resolve any issues presented.  Review information with the technician, and Service Operations manager (as required).
  4. Conduct service meetings once a month. 
  5. Review outstanding repairs to assure accurate scheduling and completion of all repairs.
  6. Ensure all time tickets are accurate.  Check and approve all service time tickets and invoices for vendor's materials.
  7. Inspect all maintenance job sites periodically to insure that they are being maintained in accordance with policies and standards.
  8. Knowledge -Requires the ability to lead, influence and execute results without direct authority. Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of employees within Door Systems and to respond to complex inquiries or complaints. Skilled in developing and promoting teams and a team-working environment. Ability to identify and resolve problems. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, managers, customers and vendors.
  9. Physical - Requires walking/standing approximately 20%, sitting approximately 80% and lifting up to 10 lbs. involves travel (into field) up to 15% of the time. 
  10. Environmental - Requires the ability of performing essential job functions in office setting with exposure to controlled climate conditions. Additional, Requires the ability of performing essential job functions in field setting with exposure to non-controlled climate conditions.
  11. Manual Dexterity - Requires the use of hands, arms to record written information; requires capability to operate an automobile. 
  12. Audible/Visual - Requires the ability to verbally communicate requires ability to observe essential functions for satisfactory job performance.
  13. Reviewing material for accuracy on Quoted repairs
  14. Resolving customer disputes, including research, calling the customer for a satisfactory outcome.
  15. Able to work with internal teammates. Covering for vacation time, overload, and sick time.
  16. Understanding door functionality and compliance for all types of equipment.
  17. Meeting with top customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
  18. Hosting, scheduling, and creating the agenda for monthly safety calls to technicians.
  19. The ability to lead a group and motivate. This includes direct team but also internal team. This requires independent process development. The ability to take on a problem and see it thru to completion.
  20. Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
  21. This position requires excellent multi-tasking abilities and problem solving skills. Fast paced office environment with many challenges on a daily basis.
  22. Customer centric personality. We are a customer service business and this position is key to growing the Service Revenue.
  23. Ability to hire new technicians and discipline when required. Accurate record keeping is a requirement.
  24. Organizational skills are necessary.




You're Skills

  • Minimum two years' experience in the door/dock or related industry. Demonstrated organizational, problem solving and analytical skills. Excellent written, verbal and pro-active follow up/through communications are required. Demonstrated effective management experience is necessary. Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Proficient in a variety of business environments with good skills in MS Office programs, especially MS Excel and Outlook;

You project a positive attitude; can work well with a variety of personalities in an open office environment. You have an ability to prioritize and multi task while working with minimal supervision.
