High performance steel doors are used in a wide variety of applications due to their impact and fire resistance characteristics combined with high levels of durability and low lifecycle maintenance. This seminar addresses the various types of steel doors, standards compliance and their applications in order to provide clear insight in to how to ensure correct specification. All aspects of door design are considered including frames, glazing systems, louvres, door controls and hardware while important design considerations are highlighted throughout.

Learning outcomes:

  • Gain a clear understanding of where steel doors should be utilised, the various types of door and their specific performance characteristics
  • Develop an insight in to standards compliance, quality assurance and other key application specific specification considerations
  • Understand how to correctly specify doorsets, considering a wide range of options in order to optimise acoustic performance, fire resistance, ventilation, thermal values, blast resistance, aesthetics and durability thought the lifecycle of the building
