ASSA ABLOY UK hosts exclusive event to discuss the marriage between design and performance

ASSA ABLOY UK is hosting an exclusive evening reception for architects, contractors and end users to discuss the marriage between design and performance, whilst also providing a networking opportunity for likeminded peers within the industry.

Held on Wednesday 16th May from 17:00 till late at 240 Blackfriars, London, the event will feature discussions led by two keynotes speakers: Christof Ronge, Global Industrial Design Director at ASSA ABLOY, and Brian Sofley, Managing Director at ASSA ABLOY Security Doors.

Christof Ronge boasts an impressive 25 years as an industrial designer, with the last 10 being spent in management and strategy for a number of global brands. At the event, Christof will discuss his approach to industrial design using high profile case studies as examples.

Christof said: “Quite rightly, architects and end users want their projects to be finished to a high aesthetic standard which fits into one coherent design theme. I have spent a number of years analysing how to integrate different products in order to make a finished design look seamless yet also unique in its own right, and I look forward to sharing my findings at this event.”

Brian added: “At ASSA ABLOY we look to support specifiers who want to maintain a design identity without compromising on product performance. For example, the aesthetic quality of any door regardless of location, specification and material type should not be compromised regardless of performance expectation.

“This event will be the perfect platform to come together and chat about trends in industrial design, and how we can help enhance our customers’ visions within the built environment.”

ASSA ABLOY UK will also be offering attendees a first look at SMARTec high performance timber doors and the newly designed range of advanced door closers.
