Maintenance Manager

Job Duties & Requirements (included but not limited to the following):

  • Manage maintenance personnel, equipment and budgets to achieve the highest possible efficiency and uptime.

  • Ensure that equipment is properly repaired to minimize downtime consistent with production schedules.

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department, including the work order and PM database.

  • Manage training assignments to insure a competent, well-rounded technical staff and be able to demonstrate training effectiveness.

  • Prioritize work assignments.

  • Provide technical support to maintenance personnel.

  • Troubleshoot equipment and process problems.

  • Plan and coordinate maintenance and engineering projects.

  • Lead in the installation of machines and equipment and their development.

  • Write technical instructions for plant equipment.

  • Train maintenance personnel on technical systems and equipment and hold them accountable for performance.

  • Specify, locate, and purchase equipment components in both emergency and non-emergency situations.

  • Assist manufacturing engineering in specifying and purchasing equipment.

  • Evaluate machine histories for basis for improving uptime.

  • Responsible for the collection and distribution of all preventive maintenance data.

  • Organize and maintain technical manuals.

  • Assist in managing Ceco's plant emergency team.

  • Responsible for budgeting all department expenses.

  • Responsible for PM activities to define variable expenses as planned fixed costs.

  • Responsible for financial, project and uptime commitments.

  • Some travel will be required.

  • Will be responsible to actively focus on reducing workplace hazards

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency


  • 4+ years of directly related training and/or experience required.


  • Proven leader with the ability to build a team and motivate to exceed.

  • Strong individual in the field of lean manufacturing methods with a proven ability to apply these skills to equipment PM, line balance and budget development and management.

  • Must have thorough working knowledge of CNC punching machines, Lasers, Cincinnati forming Presses, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC programming with RS Logic control software, how to perform a variety of maintenance work, and the amount of time required to complete a job.

  • Understand how to structure, modify, and utilize a TPM approach to maximize manufacturing programs.

  • Good Communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to comprehend technical instructions.

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints of complex concepts.

  • Mechanically inclined with good deductive reasoning skills.

  • Must have the mobility to investigate machine and tooling requirements.

  • Must be able to exhibit good motivational and personal skills

  • Must be oriented to thrive in a team environment whereby the collective efforts of the entire group achieve a common goal.

  • Must be adequately trained in First Aid to meet procedures (separate procedures for treating injuries)

  • Must be safety conscientious of self and others
