Maintenance Supervisor

Ameristar Perimeter Security - based in Tulsa, Oklahoma - is the largest ornamental fence manufacturer in the world and we are looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our team! From its beginnings over a quarter-century ago, Ameristar concentrated on enhancing the aesthetic appearance of modern fence products, promoting ease of installation, while increasing strength & durability. Pursuing this focus, Ameristar designed and built a new, environmentally friendly, high-production facility. This resulted in the creation of the highest quality residential, commercial, industrial and high-end security fences in today's market place.


Essential Duties of a Maintenance Supervisor  Include:

  • Develops an effective shift maintenance team capable of meeting the goals of the department by providing effective leadership and direction.  Plans, organizes, and directs the work of team members.  Selects staff, coaches performance, conducts EP&D sessions, and provides training and development opportunities.

  • Provides ongoing support for maintenance shift lead with regard to new employee development, career growth, continuing education, training, and safety and health issues.

  • Ensures the reliable operation and maintenance of all plant systems and equipment.  Processes changes for improving reliability and reducing costs.

  • Collects, records, and analyzes data to be used in decision making.

  • Conducts periodic reviews of the effectiveness of the qualification programs.  Makes modifications as necessary to ensure adequate qualification and to support equipment development.

  • Ensures that defined preventative maintenance programs and cost control systems are established and sustained for both existing and new systems and equipment throughout the facility.

  • Provides support as required on Equipment and Design Engineering.


Qualifications for this position:

  • AA degree in Mechanical Technology or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of ten to twelve years of experience in maintenance of equipment and systems.

  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of the practices, procedures, tools, equipment and materials utilized in the installation, repair and periodic maintenance of mechanical and electro-mechanical manufacturing devices and systems, including that of plumbing, pipefitting, brazing, soldering, and metal & plastic welding.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction and assembly drawings, and technical manuals.

  • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks in a complex environment.

  • Previous supervisory or team lead experience required.
