Chief Financial Officer, Latin America

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the leadership team for ASSA ABLOY Latin America, reporting to the Divisional CFO. The CFO will ensure the financial well-being of the organization by providing financial projections and accounting services, preparing growth plans, analyzing trends, and directing staff. This role will lead and direct a team of direct and indirect reports in a matrix environment.  The incumbent will provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities. 


Essential duties and responsibilities include:  


  • Provide leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.  

  • Ensure credibility of Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts. 

  • Establish finance operational strategies by evaluating trends, establishing critical measurements, determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; design systems, resolve problems and implement change. 

  • Develop organization prospects by studying economic trends and revenue opportunities, projecting acquisition and expansion prospects, analyzing organization operations, identifying opportunities for improvements, i.e., cost reduction, systems enhancements, etc. 

  • Develop financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements including identify monetary resources, developing and implementing action plans. 

  • Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions when necessary and minimizing the impact of variances. 

  • Report financial status by developing forecasts, reporting results, analyzing variances, and developing improvements. 

  • Ensuring consist, accurate, and timely dissemination of critical information to Division and Corporate leadership teams. 

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives so as to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions. 

Required knowledge, skills & abilities:  

  • BS in Accounting or Finance; MBA and/or CPA highly desirable. 

  • 10+ years of CFO experience with full functional scope.  

  • 5+ years of plant controller experience OR responsibility for multi-site manufacturing locations within a matrix organization.  

  • Previous experience in the construction industry is preferred. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations is essential. 

  • Experience in partnering with an executive team, and have a high level of written and oral communication skills. 

  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.  

  • The ability to create and deliver effective presentations.   

  • Fluency in English, Spanish and Portuguese is a requirement. 

  • Ability to travel at least 50% of the time. 

  • Experience working in US and/or European public listed companies is a plus.
